Friday Night Fives
The Clutha District Youth Council will hold a
Friday Night Fives multi-sports tournament of
Super 5 netball, futsal (indoor football) and
viperball (a cross of touch rugby and
American Football) on September 21. Year 7
and 8 teams will go from 4.30pm till 6pm and
open section (year 9 to adults) teams will
start at 6pm. There will be prizes for top
teams, best dressed and spot prizes. For more

September 13. The event is a fundraiser for
the Owens Build.

Lewis wins -- to be sure!
Well done: Balclutha Rotary president Ray Stevenson presents St Joseph's
School year 5 pupil Lewis Hill with the trophy from the Big River Festival.
Lewis was part of the year 5 and 6 To Be Sure, To Be Sure team that won
the Future Olympians competition at the festival in Balclutha in March. The
Kai Rebels won the year 7-8 event and the Rockets won the Mini Olympics
year 3-4 event.

Community support for a Kait-
angata family has taken off, with
a charity concert selling out two
weeks before the event.
Jodie and Terry Owen's daugh-
ters, Charli, 7, and Meg, 3, have
cerebellar ataxia, a condition of
the cerebellum that affects bal-
ance and co-ordination.
On Saturday, the community will
show their support for the
Kaitangata family with a fund-
raising concert in the Balclutha
War Memorial Hall.
Close friends and Cromwell
builders Derek and Kylie Craig
organised the concert to raise
money to build a house for the

comedian Steve Wrigley and to
feature performances by Aaron

Crescents, looks certain to be a
